An active theatre practitioner since last 22 years Namrata Sharma has been teaching as assistant professor in the department of theatre and television, punjabi university for last 15 years, she has her own registered theatre group by the name Khela in Chandigarh. She works as a director, designer, actor and trainer. With more than 40 plays as a director, around 100 shows as an actor and over 150 productions as a designer, Ho Rahega Na Kuch - Mohan Maharishi’s Hindi adaptation of Night Mother by Marsha Norman, Aahat by Prashant Dalvi, Koi Dukh Na Ho To Bakri Khareed Lo by Munshi Premchand, Mai Istambul Hun, Mohan Maharishi’s adaptation of Orhan Pamuk’s works, kuredne Do by Ismat Chugtai and Azar Ka Khwab, urdu adaptation of Pygmalion by GB Shaw are some of her acclaimed productions.

She has been awarded Ustad Bismillah Khan award for acting in the field of theatre by Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2018.
