BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:

Youth Hostels Association of India, Meghalaya State Branch is organizing a 7 days trekking cum Caving in Meghalaya, covering the places in Shillong and Sohra (Cherrapunji), from 1st Nov to 12thNov 2019

This is a good opportunity to see the scenic beauty as well as experience the climbing of more than thousands steps while returning from the Living Root Bridge called the “Living Root Double Decker Bridge”.Along with which one will visit the famous Mawsmai cave via Arwa cave and Mawmiluh cave (Limestone) which showcases the beginning of the MEGHALAYAN AGE a new phase in history.

DAY WISE SCHEDULE:

Day 1 : Reporting at Youth Hostel Shillong from 3 PM onwards

: 6 PM Orientation and training.

Day 2 : Local Sight seeing (at your own expenses).

Day 3 : Trek from Mawphlang along David Scot trail to Laitryngew

 - halt at Laitryngew (16 kms)

Day 4 : Trek from Laitryngew to Sohra via Lyngksiar falls, Dainthlen falls , Wei Sawdong Falls to Sohra (Cherrapunji) -halt at Sohra (14 kms)

Day 5 : Trek from Sohra to Tyrna via Nongriat, Nohkalikai falls, Rainbow falls, Living Root Double Decker Bridge - halt at Tyrna (15 kms).

Day 6 : Trek from Tyrna to Mawsmai cave via Mawmiluh cave (Limestone) which showcases the beginning of the MEGHALAYAN AGE a new phase in history - transfer by bus to Shillong (8 kms)

6 PM Evaluation, Campfire & Certification 

Day 7 : Check out by 10 AM.
