Sar Pass Trek an ideal trek for beginners in Shivalik Range through thick forests, alpine meadows and Himalayan villages which will take you to an altitude of 13,800 ft and offers an amazing views of snow clad peaks. The Sar Pass Trek starts from Kasol which is famous among the backpackers. It is even called as the little Israel of India.

This magical six days trek will take you on the exploration of Grahan Village, Min Thach, Nagaru, Sar, Biskeri thach and Barshaini.



Detailed trek itinerary

Day 1: Reach Kasol and Overnight stay.

Sar Pass Trek yhai made this famous treks in Himachal and it is the Sar Pass Trek in May is the best when you get loads of snow. YHAI Sar Pass follows the same itinerary but we offer more facilities and small groups than YHAI makes our trek more fun.

Take an overnight bus from Delhi to Kasol there is direct Volvo bus from Delhi to Kasol. Report at Kasol Camp which is the best place to stay in Kasol. Kasol is a small village in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh and it is famous for beautiful Kasol Homestay and Kasol Camping beside Parbati River. You can trek to various treks like Kheerganga TrekAnimal Pass Trek or Pin Parvati Trek.

Day 2: Kasol to Grahan Village ( 1 hrs drive & 10 kms trek , 5-6 hrs).

The Sar Pass Trekking trail starts from Kasol and follows the river stream. The trail is with gentle slope and after crossing the river stream or “Nalah” the trail becomes little rocky and steep. Trek from Kasol to Grahan village through the dense pine trees. There are numerous makeshift stalls which sells lemonade, Rhododendron Syrup, tea, snacks and other refreshments to the trekkers which normally come for One day trek to Grahan Village. Grahan Village is a beautiful village with traditional Himachali houses and surrounded by Rhododendron trees, so lot of trekkers come here to enjoy camping and trekking. There are several guest house avialable in Grahan Village and also camping grounds. Stay overnight in tents/Guest house.

Day 3:Trek from Grahan Village to Min Thach (7 kms, 5 hrs).

After breakfast we start the trek for Min Thatch. The trail to Min Thach is commonly used by locals to access their farms or cattle. After trekking for some the trail opens up and gives you the beautiful views of Min Thatch, Nagaru and Sar Top. Have your dinner and overnight in camps. It is best YHAI trekking programme which they offer in Himalayas. Once you reach Min Thach during the Sar Pass Trek Chandrakhani ridge and other ranges are clearly visible from the camp at Min Thach.

Day 4: Trek from Min Thach to Nagaru (8 kms, 7 hrs). 

We start early in the morning for Nagaru and today it is going to be a bit longer as the some parts of the trail will be under snow and which makes it little tricky. After trekking for 2 to 3 hours we will reach our campsite. Enjoy the mesmerizing views of beautiful Himalayas and Parvati Valley with hot cup of tea. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 5: Trek from Nagaru to Sar Pass and Biskeri Thach (14 kms 7 hrs).

 Rise early morning do some stretching exercise and have sumptuous breakfast and get ready for the long day to trek to Biskeri Thatch via Sar Pass. Trek uphill to the snow covered trail with views of Tosh Valley and your views of Sar Pass Top in sight which will keep you motivated to trek further. Spend some quality time at Sar Pass Top and have your packed lunch and start the downhill trek to Biskeri Thatch. Stay overnight at the Biskeri Thach campsite.

Day 6: Trek from Biskeri Thach to Barshaini to Kasol (10 kms, 6 hrs / 1 hr drive).

Biskeri Thach gives you amazing views of greater himalayas and thick pine forest. Today trek is downhill through the dense forest of pine, oak and deodar. After crossing the stream to reach Pulga and Tulga. Cross the Parvati river to reach Barshaini Village. Barshaini Village is the starting point for Khirganga Trek, Tosh Valley Trek and Animal Pass Trek.
