Enjoy a warm evening of holiday-themed music over steaming coffee, with our very own house band, The Big Other, played on their eclectic set of instruments. Experience a delicious platter of old time swing and hot jazz topped with classical music, dished out in the impeccable voice of conductor/organist, Anita Datta. From the likes of Handel to Nina Simone, Django and Jobim, we have got all the ingredients for a very Big Other Christmas. So get into the holiday mood and swing the night away.
The Big Other is an acoustic dance music ensemble based out of Kolkata, specializing in playing gypsy jazz, classical and folk music using an eclectic collection of instruments like the clarinet, mandolin, ukulele, etc.
Who is Anita Datta?
Anita is a singer, organist and conductor, based in the UK. Trained in western classical, she also enjoys exploring jazz, English folk and Bengali music styles. Former organ scholar of Sydney Sussex College, Cambridge University, she is the founder and Director of the elite chamber choir, The Swan Consort.

Guitar, violin, cello, double bass, ukulele, clarinet, khamak, harmonica, mandolin and trumpet.

The Big Other was formed in 2013 and have been playing regularly since 2015.

The special guest Anita is a British-born musician trained in western classical singing. She is delighted to be collaborating in the jazz style with The Big Other. She is well known as a conductor and organist, and is former organ scholar of her college Cambridge University, as well as founder and Director of the elite chamber choir, The Swan Consort.
