ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Learn to experiment with forms, colours and create playful compositions in this fun and engaging workshop with artist Vishakha Jindal. 

During the course of this workshop, Vishakha will be taking you through her approach, philosophy and the nuances of abstract art. You will gain hands-on experience in combining forms and colours to create visual elements, compose balanced images and perform abstract storytelling.

PROCESSES COVERED:

1. Cutting Forms: Free-flowing form cutting without pencils. Creating a form bank by drawing inspiration from memory, observation and intuition. 

2. Composition: Start arranging the forms from your form bank on the canvas. Learn about narration, rhythm, balance, flow and movement. Learn how to make connections between the forms. Finally, stick your composition to the canvas to come up with the final creation. 

3. Improvisation: Exchange forms with other participants, create new compositions and more!  

ABOUT VISHAKHA JINDAL:

Vishakha Jindal is an artist and photographer who follows a playful and spontaneous process to explore relationships between various visual elements, particularly colour and form. Inspired by a diverse array of artists and creators including Henri Matisse, Keith Haring, Wassily Kandinsky, Charles and Ray Eames, and Leonardo da Vinci, her work is universal in nature and free of socio-cultural context, thus allowing the viewer to interpret it in their own way. An alumnus of Srishti School of Art & Design, Vishakha is also the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Mode Studio, Mumbai. Her work has been featured in various publications including Art India Magazine and Architectural Digest.
