About Bhandardara Fireflies Camping 2023

The glow-worms and fireflies wander for mating and lots of fireflies accumulate together on a tree and reflect sparkling lights in the dark nights.

About Bhandardara Campsite

Our Campsite is a lake touch property and situated at a peaceful location away from the crowd.

Bhandardara is one of the place with less pollution, where one can see the milky way and numerous stars with the naked eyes. If one is tried rest under the open sky and take view of a millions stars.

Fireflies Festival Information

Pre-monsoon is the perfect time for the fireflies mating and you can see the millions of fireflies fluttering about in the dismal environment. They are called by different names in English it is called Fireflies, In Marathi Kajawa and in Hindi it is called Jugnoo. The flashes of fireflies on a warm summer night remind many of us of our carefree childhood sense of wonder. With firefly season almost upon us, their enchanting light displays will soon spark our curiosity and capture our imaginations.

There are about 2,000 firefly species and still much unknown information and riddles from our professionals to be covered. 

The following things we know or we have learned about firefly.

1.    Fireflies belong to the beetle order; they are not flies.

2.    They complete their cycle of life and die before the monsoon begins.

3.    Fireflies are among the many species that are bioluminescent, meaning that they can produce their own light.

4.    Male fireflies focus on finding a mate.

5.    Female fireflies sit immobile and only flash back when they see a male fireflies with a particularly impressive display.

Event Itinerary

Plan 1 – With Transportation (Kasara to Kasara)

Day 1 – Saturday

03.00 pm – Meet the team at Kasara station & start move towards campsite.

05.00 pm – Reach the campsite

05.30 pm – Evening Tea & Refreshment with Small Introduction round

07.30 pm – Enjoy the BBQ

Leave for a small jungle walk to witness the fireflies

10.30 pm – Dinner

Day 2 – Sunday

07.00 am – Wake up and freshen up

08.00 am – Breakfast & morning tea / coffee

09.30 am – Check from the campsite and move to Kasara station

11.30 am – Reach Kasara station

Plan 2 Without Transportation (Reach the Campsite by Own)

Day 1 – Saturday

05.00 pm – Reach the campsite

05.30 pm – Evening Tea & Refreshment with Small Introduction round

07.30 pm – Enjoy the BBQ

After dinner explore nearby areas & have small walk to see the fireflies.

09.00 pm – Dinner

Day 2 – Sunday

07.00 am – Wake up and freshen up

08.00 am – Breakfast & morning tea / coffee

09.30 am – Check from the campsite.

Note

1. Missing the train, means missing the firelfies camping, and no refund will be provided.

2. Campers are request to board the same train from their respective stations.

3. Campers will be meeting our camp leader at Kasara railway station near the ticket counter.

4. Our camp leader will not wait for you if you are late, it will be considered as No Show

5. If it rains, will shift to homestay

6. Fireflies are visible depends on climate
