About Bloodywood

Bloodywood is a Folk Metal band from India known for pioneering a sound that seamlessly fuses Indian Folk instruments with Metal to devastating effect.

Bloodywood consists of: Karan Katiyar (Guitars, Flute and Production) Jayant Bhadula (vocals) and Raoul Kerr (Rap vocals). Their live line up includes Vishesh Singh (Drums) Roshan Roy (Bass) and Sarthak Pawha (Dhol/Indian percussion).

The band also did their debut tour in Europe, selling out 13/15 shows and performing at the biggest heavy metal festival in the world: The Wacken Open Air. Their exploits were immortalised in the "Raj against the Machine" movie/documentary that the band released in 2020.

In 2021, Bloodywood was named one of the "12 new metal bands to watch in 2022" by the heavy metal and rock music magazine Metal Hammer. They were also nominated for the Breakthrough Asian Band title at the 2021 Global Metal Apocalypse awards, finishing second.

Rakshak, the debut album!

Rakshak (Hindi for "protector") is the debut album by Indian heavy metal band
Bloodywood, independently released on 18 February 2022. The album's music is a blend of Indian folk music and heavy metal, while the lyrics are sung in the English, Hindi and Punjabi
languages.

In February 2022, the band made Indian metal history with the release of their debut
album Rakshak selling thousands of copies worldwide and receiving widespread critical
acclaim.
