CATHARSIS - Vol. 5 is the latest edition of Bangalore’s premier gig series, dedicated to celebrating and showcasing original music from diverse genres. From folk and metal to indie, rock, pop, rap, and more, Catharsis brings together some of the most talented bands and artists, united by their passion for creating unique and authentic sounds. This is your chance to experience multiple genres' raw energy and creativity in one epic music fest.

About the Artists:
SHARMILA JOSHI:
Sharmila is a singer-songwriter, music educator, and the founder of ‘The Nadya Collective’. She has been trained in Carnatic classical music for over 10 years under Shri. Visalakshi Shankar and Smt. Deepa Rao at the Shankar Mahadevan Academy. Sharmila has also lent her voice and collaborated with Bluedoor, to their songs Neer and Congress Bun, both of which are available for streaming on Spotify.
BADAL KASHYAP:
Badal, is a singer-songwriter, performing artist, and the frontman for Malhar. His music has influences from genres like Rock, Punk, Soul, Grunge, Indie, and Indie Rock. Apart from being an on-stage performer, he has been writing and composing songs since he was 17. Currently, he's working on releasing his music. He has on-stage experience of over 10 years as part of multiple projects and lineups.
SPACEBAR:
Spacebar, is a project that started when two friends met at an open mic. They‘ve grown into a full-fledged band an alternative ambient pop-rock band with influences ranging from original music inspired by acts like U2, Switchfoot, Porcupine Tree, Plini, John Mayer, etc. The members bring in a plethora of experiences ranging from Gospel, Rock, and Fusion to Ambient Post Rock. Through the years, Spacebar has defined its style and sound. The band went on to perform music all over the country. They were featured on Music Mojo (Kappa TV) Season 6, in February 2019 and even won a ticket to the Hornbill Rock Festival later that year.
HOPE FOR THE FLOWERS:
Hope for the flowers, is a metal/hardcore band that infuses themes of personal anguish, and frustration towards society & its hypocrisies. Through their hard-hitting music, the band aims to be an outlet for feelings that refuse to be acknowledged. They’re known for their high-octane live performances & infusing a unique art style into their works.
The band members have been active members of the local metal scene for quite a few years and are proponents of "Hopecore", establishing its tenets through the music that is written and the art that is created.
FALLEN LETTERS:
Fallen Letters is a dynamic four-piece Alt Rock/Metal band from Bangalore, India. Influenced by Blackfield, Deftones, Opeth, and Katatonia. They blend Alt/Prog Rock and Metal to create a unique sound. Founded by Vishal Naidu and Aditya Ramesh, the band crafts compositions that evoke deep emotions and melancholy. Their meticulous songwriting invites listeners on an emotional journey, with each note filled with purpose and depth.
