Attend Midnight Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral
This one’s for anyone who grew up in Delhi and remembers sleepily heading to midnight mass in the back of the family car in the freezing cold winter. Crank up the nostalgia to usher in Christmas this year when you bundle up in your festive best to revisit midnight mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Don’t forget your gloves and hat!
When: Sunday, December 14, midnight (but we recommend showing up earlier to avoid crowding)
Where: 1, Ashok Place, Near Gole Dakkhana
Head to the German Christmas Mela
Hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, the German Christmas Mela is where Delhi-ites have been heading to for years to check off the storybook-inspired must-dos for Christmas. Get your plum cake, build a gingerbread house, stock up on Christmas baubles, and enjoy some carolling leading up to the big day. This usually takes place early December, so keep an eye out for the announcement of the dates

Check out the Dastkar Winter Mela
From woollens to weaves for the home, Dastkar Winter Mela is for anyone who wants to soak up some winter sun while supporting local artisans from pretty much all over northern India and beyond. Cap off some intense shopping with treats from the food and drink stalls at the Mela while you watch performers show off their art. We promise it makes for an indulgent weekend well spent leading up to the holiday.

Christmas Carols Capital
City Minstrels Choir has been serenading audiences with classic choral music or more popular carols since the early 90s. With singers from all across the world, they really set the tone for the festive season. Warble along (or just sit back and enjoy the pros) with multiple shows across Delhi leading up to Christmas Day.
When: Multiple shows starting December

Cost: Varies according to event
Put on your running shoes for the Christmas Eve Marathon
Whether you’re getting a headstart on next year’s resolutions or just keeping the one from earlier this year (congratulations!), a Christmas Eve Half Marathon sounds like the most wholesome way one could end the year. Plus, there’s a run for everyone - from serious runners to children who are athletes in the making. Grab that final running t-shirt and finisher medal of the year!
When: Sunday, December 24, 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Where: Noida Sports Stadium, Sector 21, Noida
Cost: INR 650 - 1200
And of course - Christmas Brunch
If all you want to do on Christmas is sit back and overindulge (or you just want to reward yourself for running a marathon on a holiday) head to The Imperial for their famous Christmas Brunch. It has all the trimmings - from reindeers that lead the way to the feasting to a Santa who is sure to set the standard for all future Santas for the kids in the family. We’d recommend skipping breakfast to take advantage of this one.
When: Monday. December 25, 12:30 pm
Where: The Imperial, Janpath, CP
Cost: INR 2000 - 3750 (plus taxes, as of 2016)
