Bengalis are, by popular belief khaddo rosik or in English, die hard food lover. Moving beyond the non-vegetarian spread, Andy will be showcasing an array of vegetarian delicacies. It’s common tradition that the first course of a Bengali meal or the prothom pat is always ghee and a bhaja, before one proceeds to the dal and torkari (vegetable curry). As any Bengali will confirm, the Rannaghor (kitchen) is always the best part of the house.
