About the Event
The pandemic has resulted in limited access to education, especially for students in remote and rural parts of India. Limited access to smartphones and connectivity issues in remote areas has made digital classes inaccessible for them.
You can help improve access to learning from home by volunteering with eVidyaloka. As part of their “Teaching through Television” initiative, eVidyaloka is looking for volunteers to create short video lessons in regional languages which will be aired on local television in rural and remote districts.
eVidyaloka offers digital education services to Government school students in rural areas who are attending grades 5th to 8th (ages 10-14). They leverage technology to connect passionate volunteer teachers from across the world with government elementary schools in remote and rural villages of India.
How can volunteers help?
You can help by creating short 25 - 30 min video lessons on the subjects of Mathematics and Science. These video lessons recorded in regional languages being Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada and Tamil will be shared with rural children through eVidyaloka’s Teaching through Television initiative.
Please note: Once you click on the Sign Up button, you will be directed to a short registration form. Once you sign up, the eVidyaloka team will reach out to you within 3 - 4 days of signing up to brief you on further details via email/ phone call.
