About

This temple dates back to the Gupta period and is the earliest known 'Panchayatan' temples of North India. The Gupta Temple or Dashavatar Temple is a classic example of the iconography that was used to depict the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The Dashavatar Temple has a carved doorway with Ganga-Yamuna figures. It is noted for being the first North Indian temple with a spire or shikhara. Erotic panels in the temple are an added attraction. So, book tickets, and come and experience the divinity of this temple.
