Digital Events, Elevated!
The features on our online streaming player are built out to allow users to share the experience of watching content with their friends and other fans, thus making it truly an immersive shared experience.
Invite your friends
and enjoy a shared experience
The year 2020 and the global pandemic, brought in a number of restrictions. For the live event space, that meant moving from physical in-person experiences to completely digital formats. We aimed to support our community of organisers and artists in continuing to do what they love - creating content and sharing it with audiences, but in a digital set up.
By upgrading our publisher platform to support digital show formats, artists and creators could publish their event listings in under five minutes and also choose a suitable format, which best showcased the content - interactive live streams, pre-recorded shows and video on demand.
To create better and richer experiences it was necessary to build on these digital show formats to enhance not only the quality of the content but also make the experience less individual and more of a shared experience that users could enjoy with their friends and family.
Over the last 6 months, we teamed up with organisers to host some of the biggest music, dance and art festivals like the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Breezer Vivid Shuffle, The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, enjoyed by thousands of fans virtually.
Our Users Love Shared Digital Experiences!
- We've listed over 20,000 digital events in the last eight months
- 600,000 digital tickets have been sold on the platform
- 65,000 fans attended the Bacardi NH7 Weekender over three days
- Over 1.8Lac minutes worth of content was consumed by the audience collectively during the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival
Creating Immersive Shared Experiences
Our online streaming player is built out with features that allow audiences to consume content easily while making it a meaningful shared experience they enjoy with friends and fans.
Users can choose to interact within private groups, chat with other fans on a global chat or simply zone out to enjoy a performance with chromecast support as well. Organisers backstage can moderate and interact with their audience on the global chat while they manage their event through a single console. What’s great about this is the flexibility to choose from various show formats that could be pre-recorded or live.
Watch along with friends and family
Your audience can create a private video group and invite 5 close friends to join and share the experience of watching a performance(s) together.
Chat With Other Fans
A great way to connect with people who share the same interests is to chat, cheer and sometimes challenge their knowledge on the artists performing. Organizers too can join the conversation from backstage, connect with the larger audience while keeping a finger on the pulse of the event. We also have a filter in place to censor profanity.
Multiple stages and formats
For a festival or a large format event with multiple performances, you can set up multiple stages and brand them as per your festival theme and sponsors.
At the Bacardi NH7 Weekender we had a mix of both pre-recorded and live formats, where artists along with OML built out unique sets and recorded their performances so fans could enjoy quality content. The comedy stage hosted live performances including improv acts where the audience played a participative role in determining the content for the show.
Play games and win prizes
Encourage some friendly competition or simply check in with the audience by adding multiple choice questions, fill in the blank or poll based questions that pop up during the event. The common scoreboard keeps it interesting and it’s a great way to keep the audience engaged.
Virtual meet-and-greet
Allow a few special guests to interact and spend a few minutes with the artist over a private meet-and-greet after the event has ended. A great way to reward audience members at the top of your scoreboard or winners of a contest you run prior to the event.
Chromecast Support
Performances can also be cast on a big screen to truly enjoy the fun and by activating the zone out feature, this hides all the interactive elements and leaves you with just the performer on stage. Built out for those times when you just want to kickback, relax and watch a performance.
Adding a lineup and schedule
Give you audience easy access to look up and keep a track of the schedule on the player itself, so they never miss out on a performance and can easily toggle between stages if needed. At The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival we uploaded the line up on each stage so the audience could easily toggle between the two.
Building out this streaming player to offer richer and better experiences for both artists and their fans is something we actively work on and so what you can do with the player will only get better. Even as the world opens up slowly and in a safe way, hybrid events will be the way forward and we can’t wait to see the interesting show formats that come out of it.
