UP7T
UP7T is the stage name of New Delhi based bass music enthusiast, Ayush Arora.
A start as a passionate dancer in his early years brought about in him deep-seated instincts towards music
During his post-graduation days in the UK, he got the opportunity to explore local electronic music scene in Manchester. Frequent visit to gigs at Sankeys and The Warehouse Project club series helped him experience a broader spectrum of electronic music and gradually develop a keen interest in bass music in particular.
The idea behind UP7T is to showcase his interpretation of bass music which can be a mix of deep dubstep, grime, footwork, slow/fast and things in between.
The Last Skeptik
In 2016, Skeptik has released his BBC Radio One [Toddla T/MistaJam/Sian Anderson] and Spotify [25 in Global Viral Chart] supported single ‘DAMN!’ with grime MC Jammin, entirely produced Mikill Pane’s Let MC It E.P, Trim’s last E.P, Scrufizzer’s single ‘Story of Jin’, a Club Sloth mix for Charlie Sloth, RnB mix for Nick Bright (1xtra) and Folly Rae’s BBC 1xtra Playlisted single ‘Hard To Love’, as well as working with Kojey Radical, Giggs, Rizzle Kicks, Lunar C, Bonkaz, Nick Brewer and more. 2015 signalled the launch of the infamous DJ and producer Skeptik’s new cinematic, eclectic and fiery E.P ‘Revenge Is The Best Success’, featuring a bevy of young talent on vocal duties - from Dream Mclean and new Virgin EMI signee Matt Wills, to newcomers Folly Rae and Caragh Campbell, alongside Skeptik’s brilliant live musicians.
Skeptik’s incredible 9 piece band show incorporating some of the country’s best live musicians has already lit up stages from Village Underground, Shoreditch House (2 House Sessions), Magic Garden, a Sofar Sounds session + more, alongside special guests Dream Mclean, Matt Wills and Trim.
From his 2013's fantastically diverse, cinematic solo debut entitled ‘Thanks For Trying’ released on BBE Records, DJ, producer and composer The Last Skeptik has continued on a genre-defying journey through electronic music and beyond. Following in the footsteps of J Dilla and Pete Rock, Skeptik took it leftfield, adding an orchestra of musicians over neck-snapping hip hop production, and has been lauded by press, fans and radio alike. Recent years have seen Skeptik tour around globe, have mixes on rotation on Noisey, BBC1xtra, DefJam.com and BBC Radio One, and release a video for every song from ‘Thanks For Trying’ (16 original videos in total), as well as composing the soundtrack to a BAFTA nominated short film, Vice Magazine’s documentary on ATL Stripclubs, adverts for Adidas, Puma, Powerade and Reebok, and on BBC’s coverage of the 2012 Olympics.
Add to that scene stealing DJ sets around the world, from Coachella to SXSW and supporting Charli XCX on her U.S tour, as well as opening up shows for the likes of 2Chainz, The Libertines, Childish Gambino, and Wu Tang Clan, as well as performing as part of Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, and tour DJ-ing for Doc Brown and Tiggs Da Author.
RHL
Bangalore based producer _RHL aka Rahul Giri has many avatars. He’s one half of downtempo electronic duo Sulk Station, the face behind the abstract electronic sounds of _RHL, and, as his music collective/record label Consolidate proves time and again, Bangalore’s busiest music fanatic.
His solo project _RHL is open ended, drawing inEluences from Hip-Hop, Footwork, experimen- tal electronic music and more. His name regularly features on lists of top Indian producers (Border Movement, Wild City, Thump, Pepsi MTV Indies).
Straddling hip-hop, footwork, grime and anything in between there’s no limit to what a _RHL show can or cannot do.
