Privilege Hospitality Events is organising a weekend tour to discover the royalty of Udaipur during the Holi Festival. Holi brings us to mind, pictures of exuberant revelry but in Udaipur, it spells elegance and grandeur. The festival of colours has gained popularity in the lake city of Udaipur ever since the members of Mewar's royal family opened the palace gates to witness the celebrations.

The first day of Holika Dahan (lighting the Holi pyre) is observed at the City Palace which is followed by Dhulhandi (Holi colours) on the second day. With the passage of time, holika- dahan is now performed in almost every street of Udaipur. The sights of vibrant dry colours, spectacular dance performances, stunning palace procession and mouthwatering delicacies cast its spell and mesmerises everyone.

About Udaipur:

Often referred to as the city of lakes and palaces, Udaipur is a perfect concoction of culture, history and traditions. From picturesque lakes, Rajputana palaces, opulent mansions, performing arts, architectural marvels and colourful fairs it is an ultimate expression of royalty.

The famous Lake Palace, located right at the centre of Lake Pichola is one of the most mesmerising tourist attractions of Udaipur. The Royal City Palace is one of the largest in Rajasthan that represents a perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. The delightful Fateh Sagar Lake, bordered by hills and woodlands, lies to the north of Lake Pichola. Saheliyon-ki-Bari (Courtyard of the Maidens) is a major garden and a popular tourist space.

Chittorgarh is the epitome of Rajput pride, romance and spirit. It reverberates with history of heroism and sacrifice, which is evident as it echoes with the tales sung by the Bards of Rajasthan. From stunning palaces, colourful festivities, fascinating forts, architectural monuments, serene lakes & gardens, Udaipur is considered as one of the most romantic cities in the world and also known as the 'Venice of East'.
