About the Event

Good bread is tough to find! The shops are full of bleached, refined white breads that leave our digestive system inflamed, bloated and over-burdened. Traditionally fermented sourdough bread nourishes our whole body by making the nutrients in the grains bio-available.


Reclaim your right to good bread with this all-levels workshop. Baking your own bread is much easier than you might think! We will learn the biological reason fermented grains are better for us, which grains are the healthiest choice, how to create & care for your sourdough starter and how to make, knead and bake your dough. We will also discover other uses for your extra starter - think sourdough pizza, chocolate cake & waffles :)


Time: 3:30pm - 5:00 pm (1.5 hrs)


Laura Christie Khanna is the owner of The Odd Gumnut Permaculture Farm in Panchgani, India. Her knowledge of the food system and regenerative agriculture comes from 12 years working across the field of food, from chef to farmer with many stops in between! Laura is a certified Permaculture teacher and avid fermenter of foods -- at The Odd Gumnut she teaches workshop on sustainable living, natural farming and fermentation. She is cofounder of the kombucha brand Rise Up.
