Jose Neil Gomes is a multi-instrumentalist with a command of over a dozen instruments (strings, wind and percussion), and has explored various forms of music - from classical to electronica, rock to choral, pop to jazz, blues to commercial jingles. Established as one of India’s finest artists across genres, Gomes has performed with Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan and others, at venues and festivals around the world, including Chutney Festival (Jamaica), Oslo World Music Festival (Norway) and many more. Gomes also freelances with independent musicians such as Papon, Boombay Djembe Folas, Hipnotribe, Vasuda Sharma, Tribal Flora and Windhorse Records.

Simultaneously, Gomes has been working on his own songwriting project titled Stitch in Nine. Gomes' unique style of storytelling uses instruments to create the landscape, while words and voice make up the characters in the creation. The Stitch in Nine sound is an intoxicating amalgamation of Gomes’ wide musical palette - intricate arrangements, and polyrhythmic patterns may suddenly give way to a much more open and sparse sonic landscape, but the groove and soul are always present.

For this very special event at Depot 48, Gomes will be joined by fellow Mumbai musician Dhir Mody and for the first time, Spanish bassist Antón Serrats.
