About the Event
Catch the lastest edition of Levis 501 at Bandstand, with these exciting artists:
Hriday Gattani
Hriday Gattani is a singer-songwriter from Mumbai who plays live with his five-piece band. Gattani sings in both English and Hindi, and is also an upcoming Bollywood playback singer who made his debut under the tutelage of maestro A. R. Rahman. You can often spot Gattani as part of Rahman’s live shows.
Faridkot
Starting out in 2008, Faridkot has been a regular act on Delhi stages and beyond. Riding early on the wave of sufi music influx that is still flowing in, they have carved out a cult following for themselves in the North. Faridkot’s music is a mixture of shifting blues guitars and harmonic love melodies blended around a thumping percussion and bass. Described in certain circles as Confused Pop.
Parvaaz
Fusion rock band Parvaaz is a mellow act based out of the city of gardens, that only seems to be getting better with time. With Khalid Ahamed and Kashif Iqbal on vocals and guitars, Fidel D'Souza on the bass, and Sachin Banandur handling drums and percussion duties, the band will be performing their hits like “ Dil Khush,” “Beparwah” and “Roz Roz.”

Artist

Can one ever get enough of Parvaaz’s music? Never. The Bangalore-based band plays a mix of acoustic and sufi-rock music, and features Khalid Ahamed on vocals, Mir KashifIqbal on guitars, Fidel D'Souza on the bass and SachinBanandur on drums and percussions. Formed in early 2010 by Kashif, Khalid and Neil, the band went through a few line-up changes to reach its current one (and their current sound), and released its debut EP Behosh in 2013. The band went one to release more singles, like “KhufiyaDastaan”, and their second record, Baran in 2014. After playing at all imaginable venues and festivals in India, and becoming one of the most in-demand acts in the country, the band is currently touring Northern America.

A self-professed perfectionist who hates making mistakes with his music and singing, Hriday Gattani is a talent to look out for. The singing prodigy started young, and got bit by the music bug at the nascent age of 3, after attending a concert with his parents. After that, there was no looking back. Mentored by the legendary music director A R Rahman, this K M Conservatory graduate is now singing for leading films and directors in the industry. He might come across as shy when you meet him in person, but has a striking presence on stage, as he dishes out one strong vocal after another. Often seen performing with singer Jonita Gandhi, Hriday’s smooth voice just melts into every song, blending in and enhancing the music.
