Grassroutes Journeys bring you the Million Fireflies Festival, a festival in the quintessentially sleepy village of Purushwadi – a tribal village adopted by Grassroutes. The village is home to millions of fireflies that light up summer nights starting around May up until July, every year. It is easily accessible by road and train, and is extremely safe for women and children. Not only do you get to see these stunning fireflies first-hand, but you get the whole package of being in a rustic rural village as these happy villagers welcome you into their homes.

Spend your afternoons gorging on mangoes, karvandas and jamuns by the river, and laze about in the night under the stars. You get to eat food cooked by the locals, camp by the lakeside and kiss your city life goodbye for a while. So come visit your grassroots, and be ready to get your camping skills sharpened.
