Filmmaking for Theatre
Film and video are a resource for theatre in more focused areas of documentation, training, education, art, research, communication, archive, etc.
This one day practical workshop will introduce students to the role of the filmmaker and the camera within theatre, investigating the common land that border between two different expressive languages. Participants will have the chance to work on a small task as filmmakers, from the beginning to the end of the process. The aim is to have an overview and to discover the basic rules of filming theatre/live performance.

The workshop will cover:
Shooting movement: What is alive?
Editing: how to cut and why. To follow and break the rules.
The workshop would end with a discussion with the participants.
The workshop is for students, artists and film makers interested in the techniques of filming within the context of live performances.
Participants are requested to get their own camera and laptop. Editing software to be used is Premiere Pro CC 2017/2018.
About the Filmmaker:
Over the years, she led projects of education and training on filmmaking and multimedia and collaborated in educational projects with the professors Ferruccio Marotti, Clelia Falletti, Valentina Valentini, Luca Ruzza, (Sapienza University of Rome); Nicola Savarese, Mirella Schino (Roma Tre University of Rome). Since 2010, she works at Odin Teatret Film and Odin Teatret Archives of the Odin Teatret founded by Eugenio Barba as a film-maker, and she is also responsible for training projects and live-streaming activities for Odin Teatret Web TV.
