About the event:

Over the course of the night, we'll be delving neck-deep into African music by exploring sounds of African Jazz, Afro beat, Afro Disco, Kuduro, GQOM, Batida, Singeli and a whole host of other sub-genres covering the last five decades. Expect to discover music that isn’t traditionally built for the dance floors along with left field club music from the African continent and its migrant communities that is under-represented in the Scene. Brace yourself to experience a spectrum of sounds, rhythms and textures weaved together with constant twists and a few left turns.

About Focus Group Radio

Focus Group Radio or FGR, as we're (fondly) referred to, organises regular online listening parties curated by musicians, artists, and anyone with something new to listen to. The idea is to help people explore new music and expand their spectrum. The Radio started their sessions online during the pandemic, but have now taken this spirit with Focus Group Sound System to dance floors across the country.
