The most magical time of the year was reduced to a few strings of fairy lights and presents hastily ordered off the internet. We think it’s about time that changes, and Goonj is doing exactly that.

Goonj is a contemporary music and arts festival that celebrates the marvel that is nature. Goonj is the coming together of those who wander, the lovers of sound, and all those who believe in magic. 

This Christmas Eve, head to Forest Hills, Tala – located two and a half hours away from Mumbai – and immerse yourself in this all-encompassing sustainable experience. Camp out under the brilliance of the night sky, nestled among wilderness in a melting pot of cultural experiences.

Goonj’s stellar line-up features Peter Cat Recording Co., from gypsy jazz to ambient and ballroom waltz to electro, this band has got it all covered. After touring India as well as the UK, they are all set to perform their album Bismillah. 

With her feet planted on the Earth, her enchanting voice will still make you imagine her floating away. Presenting Ditty, an urban ecologist transitioning between spoken word and singing.

Peter Cat Recording Co. is a Delhi-based indie band who create and record a variety of different music ranging from Gypsy Jazz to Ballroom.The band consists of five members: Suryakant Sawhney, the lead singer, and guitarist; Karan Singh, the drummer; Dhruv Bhola, who plays bass and samples; Rohit Gupta on Keys and Trumpet; and Kartik Sundareshan Pillai, who plays keyboards, guitar, electronics, and trumpet.

Ditty

Ditty is an Indian artist currently based in Goa, India. She's an urban ecologist in the day and a musician at night. She writes and sings earth songs.

How to reach the Venue:

By Train:

The campsite is 165 kilometers away from Mumbai city, so one can reach to us by train. Roha, Mangaon, and Indapur are three nearest stations from Forest Hills at Tala. From the station, you can get an auto or we can arrange for a pick up at an additional cost.

Drive Your Own:

Drive down to the Campground in your own vehicle (Yaaaay Road Trippp)

Catch a Speed Boat or a Ferry:

You can book a speedboat or a ferry from the Gateway of India, and hire a cab from Mandwa Jetty to Tala, Raigad.

About the Location

Tala is a small village situated in the Raigad district of Maharashtra and is just three hours away from Mumbai and Pune. An idyllic setting that is perfect to rejuvenate both body and soul. The perfect hide-away from crazy schedules and cramped spaces, from pollution and pandemonium and the regular stresses and strains of urban living.
