About the Event

Homebound Music Festival started with the feeling of creating a unique listening experience in the place we called our home.

Homebound Sit-Down Session is the same gesture of creating an intimate space where people are brought closer to each other to be a part of the art forms that we are producing.

It's an attempt to try to change the way an artist and the audience interact by bringing more intimacy and lesser space.

Samar Mehdi is a percussive finger-style guitarist and singer-songwriter from Bhopal. From a very young age, Samar broke his family’s institutional pattern and had his heart set on music quite stubbornly. Eventually he found his way to the guitar and that brought forth a new purpose to his songwriting. He quickly emerged as one of the best guitarists from his region, and that led to his invitation to being part of the bands - Acrimony and The Ferryclock Yarns. However, as uncertain periods of lull hampered both of his bands, and alarmed by an increasing complacency about his own life, Samar decided to give his original music one final shot by building his way to his reinterpretations. A few coincidences and accidents like practicing left-hand legato while unintentionally tapping on the computer table near him led him to the world of percussive fingerstyle. What captured his attention about percussive fingerstyle was not the flashy skill show, but an opportunity to write and perform multi-layered songs organically despite being a solo act. Samar had found meaning in reinterpretations, or he calls it, in the “possibilities in impossibilities”.

Mahesh is a singer-songwriter and musician from Bangalore whose music combines indie rock, pop rock,soul with a hint of RnB. Influenced by artists ranging from Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra all the way to John Mayer, Damien Rice, Mahesh has opened for artists such as The Raghu Dixit Project, Bruce Lee Mani (Thermal and a Quarter), Parvaaz, The Kutle Khan Project, Sanjeev Thomas & Baiju Dharmajan and international artists such as Lucy Rose, Luke Sital-Singh from the U.K and Ty Penshorn from Australia. Mahesh also performed as a singer-songwriter at Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2015, Stage42 Festival 2016, Into the Void 2016, Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2017, Backdoors 2018 and more. He has performed with Christian Galvez, one of the best Jazz musicians in the world. Besides the solo career, Mahesh is involved in multiple collaborative projects. He is the frontman of the psychedelic/alt band Blushing Satellite.
