How to join a Paytm Insider digital event on Zoom
Follow these simple steps to join a digital event on Zoom and enjoy the experience right from the comfort of your home. Let's get started!
Signed up for your first digital event? Let's ensure you have everything you need to enjoy the experience and make it a memorable one. Here's a quick checklist:
- Check your e-ticket
- Download the zoom app and sign in with your registered email ID
- Join the link on your e-ticket 5 minutes prior to the event
Download the zoom app on your device
To join digital events on Paytm Insider, you will need to download the Zoom app on your device since most of our digital events are currently hosted on this platform.
Head here to get started. If you already have the Zoom app installed on your device, then you'll want to ensure it’s updated to the latest version.
Note: Sign in or create an account on Zoom using the same email ID that you’ve used to purchase the ticket.
Once you have the Zoom app installed, you'll need to login with your registered email ID. This needs to match the email address used when booking your tickets.
Alternatively, if you have a Gmail account, you can sign in with Google.
If you don't have an account on Zoom, follow these steps to create one.
How to create an account on Zoom?
Step 1: Open the Zoom app and click on the “Sign In” button.
Step 2 : Click the “Sign Up Free” link
Step 3 : Clicking on the link will take you to this Zoom page on your web browser. Enter your date of birth and click on 'Continue'
Step 4 : Enter your email address, this needs to match the email address on your e-ticket. Click 'Sign Up'
Step 5 : You will receive the following message. You then need to check your inbox.
Step 6 : You will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org to verify your Zoom account. Click the 'Activate Account' button to proceed
Step 7 : Select “No” and proceed
Step 8 : Enter your name and create a password
Step 9 : Click on 'Skip this step' and proceed
Step 10 : Click on 'Go to my account'. You have now successfully created your account on Zoom
How to create an account when your registered email ID is linked with Google?
Step 1 : Open the Zoom app, click on 'Sign In'
Step 2 : Select the 'Sign in with Google' option
Step 3 : You will be redirected to the Google sign-in page.
Here, you can either log in using your existing Google credentials or if you are already logged in, select the relevant account.
Step 4 : Enter your date of birth
Step 5 : Select 'Create account'
Step 6 : You will be redirected to Zoom’s home page on the app. Click on Allow and you will have now successfully created an account.
Step 7 : Confirm on the top right-hand corner of the app whether you are signed in with the correct email address
Once you have downloaded the Zoom app on your device and logged into your account, you will need to open your e-ticket to enter the event.
How to locate your e-ticket and join an event on Zoom
To find your e-ticket, check your inbox for the following subject line 'Here are your tickets!'
In case you don't find your e-ticket, you can search for an email sent by email@example.com if you have purchased your ticket from Paytm Insider or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have purchased via the Paytm App.
Note: Don't forget to check your spam and promotional folders as well, if you still can't locate it.
Alternatively, you can enter your 6 digit shortcode in your inbox and the e-ticket email will be pulled up.
How to join an event on Zoom
To attend the event, you will need to open the e-ticket that was sent to your registered email ID and click on the "Join on Zoom" button displayed. Ensure you have the Zoom app installed on your device and you are logged in with the same email id mentioned on your e-ticket.
Once you click on the “Join on Zoom” button on the e-ticket, you will get redirected to a landing page. where you need to click on “Join the Zoom call” button to join the meeting.
Note: You will see a greyed out button. This button gets activated only 5 minutes prior to the event. So you will only be able to join the event then.
When you see the 'Join the Zoom call' button highlighted. You can click on it to join the event.
After you click on 'Join the Zoom call', if the Zoom app is installed on your device, you get prompted to open the application.
If you are already signed in to the app with your registered email ID before clicking on the button, the app opens and you directly join the meeting.
You have successfully joined the event. Enjoy the experience!
A few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you have created a Zoom account with the email ID you used to purchase the tickets. That will be counted as your registered email address.
Why we do this?
We have enhanced security features for Zoom events on Paytm Insider. This ensures that only ticket buyers can enter the event. We validate this based on the email ID you join the event with. So the ID on your ticket needs to match the email ID you are logged in with on Zoom. This prevents outsiders from accessing events without a ticket or registration.
- There is no Meeting ID or Password required to join our Zoom events. While this is a major factor in Zoom, we have embedded these details onto your ticket itself, this is an additional security layer which helps maintain ensure that only customers who have purchased a ticket can join in and enjoy the experience.
- Make sure you’re all comfy before you join the event so that there are no distractions and you can sit back and enjoy the session!
