Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival is the first ever curated Bengali film festival in India started

in 2014. It was started by Bengalis in Hyderabad, a not-for-profit society registered under the

AP Society Act. Bengalis in Hyderabad is the biggest Bengali club in Hyderabad &

Secunderabad with a strong member base & presence in the IT & Corporate world of

Hyderabad.

This year we are premiering 4 films:

1. Whispers of Fire & Water (Directed by Lubdhak Chatterjee)

2. Once Upon A Time In Calcutta (Directed by Aditya Vikram Sengupta)

3. Niharika (Directed by Indrasis Acharya)

4. Chalchitra Ekhon (Directed by Anjan Dutt) – in remembering Mrinal Sen category

This is a great opportunity for Hyderabadi cinephiles to watch these 4 films and

interact with the directors. They will meet you post screening. Especially those who

love Bengali films must not leave this opportunity as getting a chance o meet one

like Anjan Dutt who wears different hats like the actor, director, songwriter, composer,

vocalist, musician, is a rare incident in Hyderabad. Lubdhak, the debutant director, is

one of the Bengali film makers of future. The festival is also going to host Aditya

Vikram & Indrasis who are very important film makers of this time.
