About the Event
Overview:
The Indian Mental Health Youth Summit 2024 organised by Hibiscus Foundation for Social Welfare (HFSW) is an innovative platform designed to empower and amplify youth voices across India in addressing mental health challenges. The summit brings together young advocates, mental health professionals, policymakers, and activists to collaboratively develop actionable solutions for mental health challenges faced by the Indian Youth. This event aims to dismantle stigma, promote resilience, and build a future where mental health is prioritized by creating a space for open dialogue.
Purpose of the summit :
In a country where mental health struggles among youth are increasingly prevalent, the Indian Mental Health Youth Summit seeks to:
Provide a Safe Space for youth to express their concerns, share experiences, and challenge the stigma surrounding mental health, and amplify their voices.
Encourage Collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including youth leaders, mental health professionals, and policymakers, to co-create sustainable solutions.
Develop youth-driven actionable recommendations that can be integrated into local and national mental health policies.
Encourage networking and partnerships to unite like-minded individuals and organizations in promoting mental health advocacy.
Develop a manifesto outlining key recommendations from the youth, aimed at influencing governmental mental health policies.
What will the Summit include?
Interactive Panels & Discussions: Sessions led by experts and youth leaders, address critical issues such as depression, anxiety, and systemic challenges within India’s mental health infrastructure.
Collaborative Solution Building: Group brainstorming and workshops will encourage participants to co-create tangible, youth-driven strategies for improving mental health.
Resource Fair & Networking: Attendees can connect with mental health organizations and access valuable resources to continue their advocacy efforts post-summit.
Social Media Engagement Drive: Leveraging social platforms to spread awareness and build momentum for ongoing mental health conversations.

This summit is organized by the Hibiscus Foundation for Social Welfare (HFSW), a youth-run, women-led not-for-profit organization that has been working since 2020 in the areas of Mental Health, Human Rights, Gender Equality, and Sustainability Advocacy. HFSW has positively impacted over 35,000 individuals through its initiatives such as Health for All, Stand Up for Human Rights, and Mental Health and Well-being for Youth.
