Islamic art is not art of a specific religion, time, place, or a single medium. It spans over 1400 years, covers many lands, populations and includes a range of artistic fields including architecture, calligraphy, painting and textiles among others.

Ptah brings to you a rather small but enchanting part of Islamic Art - Islamic Geometry & Illumination by none other than Tehreem Pasha.

Tehreem’s passion for Islamic art is as strong as her morning cup of tea. She’s been devoting herself to practising the art for the better part of the past decade and is happiest when sharing that passion with other art enthusiasts.

Our premium 2 day workshop on Islamic Geometry and Islamic Illumination will be a deep dive into the stunning heritage of this historic art form that has layers of intricate mathematics and intricacy coded into it.

In this workshop you will learn her style of recreating as well as developing beautiful Islamic motifs & geometric patterns. The workshop will cover the basics of creating grids & extracting patterns from the same as well as rendering the motifs to bring out the beauty in @pasha.tehreem's style.

- A4 Sized Tracing Paper

- A4 Sized Regular/Printer Paper

- A4 Sized Watercolor Paper (300gsm)

- Color Palette

- Ruler (Preferably Transparent)

- Compass

- HB/Mechanical Pencil & 2B Pencil & Eraser

- Agate Burnisher/Spoon

- Size 1 Paint Brush

- 0.5 Fine Point Black Pointer

- Gouache Paints or Watercolor or Watercolor Pencil

(White, red, green, blue, black are the colors that artist shall be using)

- Gold metallic paint (Gouache/ Acrylic)

- Water Container

- Tissue Paper

- Masking Tape

About the Artist :

Tehreem Pasha is a Communication Design graduate from the Visual Studies Department at University of Karachi, Pakistan and a merit holder from Sindh Board of Technical Education. Certified Islamic Artist from The Prince's Foundation School of Traditional Arts, London in collaboration with VMCTA. She has lived the #agencylife for over 3 long years before officially retiring and following her passion full time. She has displayed her works in multiple exhibitions and aims to host more exhibitions in the future.
