JioSaavn - Live Anywhere: Ankur Tewari
JioSaavn, India’s largest music and audio entertainment streaming service, is announcing its initiative to keep live music, and artists’ incomes, alive. For the month of April, and possibly longer, a series of independent artists will take to the virtual stage for 20 or 30-minute performances on JioSaavn’s Facebook Live. The audio recording of each session will then be hosted as an album for streaming within the JioSaavn app. 100% of the revenue generated from these streams will go directly to the artist.
Ankur Tewari is a man of many talents. Whilst moonlighting as a singer - songwriter, he is also a composer, music supervisor & poet. Lyrically, Ankur Tewari weaves magic with his compositions allowing one to feel an array of emotions with each song.
Known for his story telling & poetry, he and renowned TV & Radio personality Roshan Abbas co-founded Kommune which is a collaborative based community of story tellers, poets & musicians. Kommune is also the driving force behind culture & arts festival, Spoken Fest.
Ankur Tewari has released his single, Tum Badal Gaye & both his studio albums - Jannat & SIDE A / SIDE B; independently. His children's album, Bachcha Party was released in collaboration with Sony Music.
In his most recent achievements, Ankur Tewari is the music supervisor behind the blockbuster movie Gully Boy's 18 track album. He has also composed various tracks on Gully Boy. Besides Gully Boy, he has also supervised the music for Amazon Prime Video's critically acclaimed web series, "Made In Heaven". He won the music Maestro award at the GQ Style & Culture Awards 2019.
Currently, he is supervising the music for Sooni Taraporevala's latest movie for Netflix as well as Dharma's Netflix venture, Guilty.
