Following the unprecedented success of series of MTB events in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018, it is no surprise that WTH is back for its fourth year. WTH is thrilled to launch the MTB NAINITAL. For 2019 the route has been polished up and with the introduction of one of Kumaon’s finest trails, this series will positively quench your thirst for adrenaline.

An exciting brand new venue making its debut on the 2019 calendar. With some of the most varied trails we have ever ridden, this is set to be a one of the best yet!

MTB Nainital, Uttarakhand’s landmark cycling event will see cyclists of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, riding on bikes of all shapes and sizes, in celebration of cycling.

Route Overview:

Day 1- The race will begin from Ramnagar/ Bhelpadao, traverse Kotabagh and Vinayak. This dirt route will be a total distance of 70 kms, with approx 20 kms flat and the rest a mix of

major ascent and partial downhill. Reach Pangot. And then reach Fairlight trails.

Day 2 –Fairlight to Vinayak to kunjakharak and back to Pangot. A total of 60kms off-road ride, amazing single-track with great flow, tons of jumps, and fast terrain.

Itinerary

Day 1 –12th April 2019

• Race Places Enroute : Bhelpadao and Pandeygao.
• Day 1 of the race the riders will start the day bright and early at 6:00 am with a cup of stiff mountain tea and light breakfast. The race begins from Bhelpadao. You head to Pangot which is 70 kms away from Bhelpadao with approx. 20 kms flat and the rest of the terrain being a mix of major ascent and partial downhill. Enjoy the wilderness in the meandering lanes penetrating through the dense forest with the breath-taking backdrop of the snow-capped Himalayas. Check in at the resort and retire for the day.
• Nainital has earned the epithet of ‘Lake District’ of India. It is said that the left eye (Nain) of Sati fell here and formed the emerald eye-shaped lake. In the evening you could simply pedal in the serene Nainital Lake and watch the cares of the modern world slip away. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
• Meal - All meals and Refreshments during race.

Day 2– 13th April 2018

• Race Places Enroute - Pangot; China Peak.
• The second day of the race will commence post breakfast and briefing for the day; rider’s flag off to Vinayak enroute through Kilbury - Vinayak - Kunjakharak an altitude of 2512 M (8242 ft) above sea level. This is the highest point of the race. A total of 65kms off-road ride; amazing single-track with great flow; tons of jumps; and fast terrain.
• From Kunjakhadak head towards Kungkhark via Vinayak and race towards Pangot. Pedal for last 4 kms to reach the finish line.
• In the evening; cheer for yourself and the winner in the felicitation ceremony and prize distribution.
• Let yourself loose and bask in the glory of your accomplishment. Dinner and overnight at the resort in Nainital.
• Meal - All meals and Refreshments during race.

Day 3: 14th April 2019

• Post breakfast check out from Nainital. It’s time to wish adios to the royal forest of Deodhar trees; the blissfully undiluted silence; the crisp air laden with the scent of pines; and finally the enthralling ambiance of the Himalayan range and retrace your path back home. Reach Delhi and proceed for your onward destination.

• Please Note - The prize money is applicable only if there is minimum number of 7 cyclists in the category.
• Participants would have to reach Jim Corbett on 11th April after 4.00 PM.
• The Departure would be on 14th April post breakfast.
• This package is inclusive of all meals from 11th April 2019 dinner to breakfast on 14rd April 2019.
• Participants will have to arrange transport to reach Jim Corbett. WTH would assist post knowing the exact group size.
• 3’o clock will be the cut off timing for the race on both the days; 12th and 13th April.
• Every participation is commendable and valuable. Giveaways that make the race special - Participation certificate; Medals; Goodies; And loads of memories and sense of accomplishment which is priceless!
• The ride is a great way to get connected to other bike-friendly and bike-curious folks across the country. So treat yourself and your all-mountain/free ride bike to the raw beauty and awesome thrills of mountain biking on the trails of the Rockies!

Excluded

• Your travel expense till Jim Corbett on the start of the event from Delhi.
• Your travel expenses from Nainital to Delhi on the last day of the event.
• Any kind of damage to the cycle
• the repairing cost would have to be borne by the cyclist.
• Any extra or miscellaneous expenses during the event.
• Air Fare-Train Fare.
• Medical expenses or Insurance of any kind.
• Tips; Laundry; wine; liquors; items of personal nature.
• Transportation is not on disposal basis. It is strictly as per program and any extra running would be charged.
• Any expense arising out of unforeseen circumstances
• strike or any other natural calamities or emergency evacuation expenses.
• Any other item not included in the cost section.
