There are several beautiful valleys in Himachal Pradesh such as Kullu Valley, Kangra Valley, Chamba Valley, Kinnaur Valley, etc. Out of all, Kinnaur is one of those valleys which remained untouched and is home to many picturesque places. Few of them are Kalpa, Sangla, Chitkul, etc. Kinnaur Valley is all about deep gorges, snowcapped mountain peaks, a blend of Indo-Tibetan culture, apple orchards, etc. Another amazing fact about Kinnaur Valley is that the region has the cleanest air in India. In this trip, one can cover almost all the major destinations in the Kinnaur region.

Kalpa is also known as Winter Abode of Lord Shiva and is famous for heavenly views of Kinnaur Kailash ranges and Roghi suicide point. Chitkul is the last village on the Indo Tibet border and is popular for breathtaking views of Baspa Valley. The road to Kinnaur Valley is exciting as it passes through natural mountain caves and its a part of Hindustan Tibet highway, which makes the road trip quite interesting.

Day 0

Departure from Delhi

Depart from Delhi by AC volvo bus to Shimla. The journey takes around 7 hours and you will reach Shima by 7 AM.

Day 1

Reach Shimla and Drive to Chitkul

Deboard the bus at Shimla and our taxi will be ready at Shimla, get into it and begin your drive to Chitkul. Chitkul is around 250 km from Shimla and it takes around 10 hours to reach there. The journey to Chitkul village is also interesting as the scenes are quite breathtaking. Have your breakfast at Fagu and lunch at Rampur. The road bifurcates at Kharcham and the right one goes towards Chitkul. Enjoy the delicious momos at Sangla, which is the last place where your phone will have networks and you will ATM's. Continue your journey, in the next 2 hours you will reach your destination. Relax and enjoy the bonfire under the sky full off millions of stars. 

Day 2

Chitkul Sightseeing

Start your day with a visit to ITBP check post, which is officially the last point where anyone can visit without any permits. The check post is 3 km from the hotel and the walk is enjoyable as you can see the beautiful views of snowcapped peaks and Baspa river valley. Return to hotel for lunch and stroll near the river. Later, explore the village and the last Indian Dhaba. Bonfire and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 3

Chitkul to Kalpa

Have breakfast and begin your drive towards Kalpa. The road to Kalpa passes through Sangla and Reckong Peo (Headquarters of Kinnaur district). It takes around 4-5 hours to reach Kalpa from Chitkul. Head directly towards Roghi and enjoy the views from the suicide point. Return to Kalpa and explore the village and the temple. Have dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 4

Kalpa to Shimla and depart for Delhi.

Don't forget to wake up early in the morning to enjoy the heavenly sunrise which takes place behind the Kinnaur Kailash ranges. Have your breakfast and depart for Shimla. Drive back through the same road and reach Shimla by evening. Later depart for Delhi by AC volvo bus.
