About the Event
Adorned with ravishing beauty of falling snow and fringed with pine trees, The Kedarkantha Peak is one of the most sought after snow trekking destinations in India. With falling winter snow it’s a mesmerizing pictorial view and what’s more attractive, is the view of the Mighty Himalayas from the trails right to the top
With charming and captivating sights of snow clapped Himalayas, the verdant greenery, lush landscapes, myriad collection of flora, frozen ponds, to the sights of mesmerizing peaks, this trek have all the delightful marvels that a trekker wish to experience and view in his journey.
What to Watch Out For:
- Kedarkantha Trek in Uttarakhand is one of the most beautiful treks which take you to the land of some of the best views which you will cherish for a lifetime.
- This winter trek will take you through a journey of some of the unknown places with the best views of the mountains.
- During your trek you will trek across some of the most beautiful sights with snow-capped mountains, verdant valleys and frozen ponds.
- Get a chance to witness the vivid flora and fauna of the region as you continue your trek.
- Each of the campsites is known for its amazing surroundings with the beauty of pine trees.
- Soak in the amazing beauty of the region while you continue trekking through the lush meadows, dense pine forests, cascading beautiful streams, and gorgeous maple trees.
Itinerary
Day 1 - 29th Dec Dehradun to Sankri by Taxi
- Pickup from Dehradun Railway Station
- 220 km drive – approx. 10 hours
- Stay – Guest House
Day 2 - 30th Dec - Sankri to Juda ka Talab
- Altitude: 6,400 feet to 9,100 feet
- 4 kms trek, approx 5 hours
- The trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, few streams and finally opens out to beautiful meadows
- Stay – Tents
Day 3 - 31st Jan - Juda ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp
- Altitude: 9,100 feet to 11,250 feet
- 4 kms trek, approx 2.5 hours
- Most of today’s trail is on a ridge, under oak trees. You will also pass through some meadows where you can spot shepherd log huts
- Peaks :- Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag and Ranglana stand among the others
- Stay – Tents
Day 4 - 1st Jan - Kedarkantha Summit and back to Hargaon
- Altitude: 11,250 feet to 12,500 feet to 8,900 feet
- 6 kms trek, approx 7 hours
- Spend some time at the summit and descend back to the base camp by noon for lunch. Post lunch, descend down to Hargaon vai Juda ka taal
- Stay – Tents
Day 5 - 2nd Jan - Hargaon to Sankri
- Altitude: 8,900 feet to 6,400 feet
- 6 kms trek, approx 4 hours
- Descend 2500 feet through dense pine forests
- Stay – Guest House
Day 6 - 3rd Jan - Sankri to Dehradun by Tax
- Distance: 220 km drive, approx 8/9hours drive
- You will be dropped at Dehradun station in a Tata Sumo or a similar vehicle
Inclusions
- All transfers in shared taxi
- All travel to and from Dehradun.
- Permits and Entrance fees.
- Accommodation in tents(double sharing)/ Guest houses(triple sharing)
- All vegetarian nutritious meals,{DURING TREK/Base camp to base camp} Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Tea/Snacks & Dinner
- All camping gear including tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mattress, Liner, Kitchen tent, Dining tent and toilet tent.
- Trekking gears including but not limited to Gaiters, Microspikes etc.
- Fully trained and equipped crew to handle any emergency
Exclusions
- Personal Insurance.
- Personal toiletry Items & medical kit
- Meals during transit. (Dehradun to Sankri & Sankri to Dehradun)
- Charges of mules/porters/carrying extra luggage. (Rs 300/per bag /pp/prebooking required )
- Anything not included under the inclusions
- Any cost arising from unforeseen circumstances like bad weather, road blocks, landslides etc.

Disclaimer
- It is trekking activity and not a leisure trip so one needs to prepare themselves accordingly
- Dry pit toilets will be available while on the trek
- Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited.
- Please avoid wearing Gold and other jewellery.
- A planned activity or programs may be cancelled or revised depending on the weather or any other unavoidable circumstances
COVID Safety Guidelines
- Each member of the group (participants/trek leads) will need to wear protective masks while interacting with others.
- It should be ascertained from the participants that they are not residing / have not travelled in a containment zone and have not come in contact with any person who was tested Covid positive in last 14 days.
- The accommodation will be thoroughly sanitised
- Follow safe health practices in case you want to cough, sneeze in public space or during activity.
- Trek Lead would be carrying sanitizer, spare masks, few pairs of disposable gloves (in sufficient quantity) as a Covid Protection Kit.
- It is mandatory that a participant informs the organisers if he tests positive for Covid within 14 days of returning from adventure activity. It will help the organisers to inform and alert all other persons in the group and concerned health authorities of Government, so that they can follow the medical/government norms in this regard. Here it is absolutely essential that the participant observes transparency and informs the organisers/group leaders about his Covid test results. Organisers should actively pursue this matter with participants as this is a mutual responsibility.

How will you contact me once I register?
We will be mailing you the details once you register. We will also create a WhatsApp group of all the participants
What is the age limit for this trek?
The age limit for the trek is 18 years with no upper limit. Participants below the age of 18yrs need to be accompanied by a guardian
Can I come alone?
Yes, many of our participants are solo travellers.
Is it safe for a female solo traveller?
It is completely safe for a female solo traveller as our representatives will be there with you all the time.
Moreover, most of our event have 60% female participation.
How are the washroom arrangements?
Clean & basic washroom facility available at Guest House at Sankri. Dry pit toilet tents during the trek
Can we smoke or drink alcohol?
Smoking or drinking alcohol is prohibited.
Would I get cellular connectivity?
You will get cellular connectivity at base village and limited connectivity during the trek.
What type of food will I get?
Local cooked veg meals
What if I have a medical emergency?
We will carry first aid kit with us. The trek leaders will be first aid certified. If the problem increases, with the help of local villagers we will quickly get you to closest medical attention possible.
What kind of clothing we need to wear?
Winter wear and hiking pants and T-shirts. We will send you a detailed list once you register
What is the stay like?
We will be staying in a guest house in Sankri and in Tents while trekking
