The views on the Winter Kuari Pass trek are often cited as the best in the Indian Himalayas. It is not hard to discover why. To the north of the Winter Kuari Pass trek is the Chaukhamba Range, while the summits of Mana (7272m), Kamet (7756m) and Abl Gamin (7355m) extend to the Tibet border.In the middle foreground, a number of spectacular peaks including Dunagiri (7066m) and Changabang (6864m) enclose the Nanda Devi Sanctuary while to the west the snowcapped ranges extend to Gangotri.

Today’s journey from Haridwar to Joshimath is about 260 kms long and takes around 10 hours. Joshimath is a hub for pilgrim tourists traveling to Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib. Check in to guest house at Joshimath.
Day 02: Joshimath to Auli to Tali (15kms Drive / 9kms Trek )
To start the Kuari Pass trek we first take a small drive to Auli which is famous for its skiing slopes and is home to winter skiing resort run by GMVN(Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam). From there we will start our trekking adventure to the Kuari Pass. After reaching Auli, the starting point of trek will start to Tali Top which is 9 kms trek and takes around 5-6 hr trek. Enroute we will cross the famous bugyals (meadows) of Gurson and will also get views of the route leading to the famous Nanda Devi sanctuary, along the Rishi Ganga. It is a gradual ascent to Auli which passes through woods and pastures. Overnight stay at campsite.
Day 03: Tali to Khullara (5 kms Trek)
After morning breakfast we will head toward to Khullara from Tali top. The trek is of around 5 kms to Khullara from Tali through green vegetation and red rhododendron flowers which turn red during the blooming season in April and May. The ascent trail will take around 4-5 hrs to reach to the campsite of Khullara.
Day 04: Khullara to Kuari Pass Trek to Khullara (7 kms trek)
We will start early in the morning to Kuari Pass Trek. First leg of today’s trek is a gradual ascend till Khullara top and from there traversing through the snow patch we reach Kuari Top. At Kuari Pass top winds will gush past you. Savour the unending vistas of great Himalayan peaks including the famous Nanda Devi. Nanda Devi (7816m) is the highest peak completely within India. It is surrounded by a huge circle of mountain walls with only one outlet, where the Rishi Ganga forges a route through deep, almost impenetrable gorges before flowing into the Alaknanda River. Given these natural defences, it was not until 1934 that the first mountaineers were finally able to reach the base of Nanda Devi. Return to Khullara through the same route and enjoy camp bonfire and sumptuous dinner at Khullara campsite.
Day 05: Khullara to Dhak to Joshimath (10 kms trek / 10 Kms drive)
After morning breakfast we will be head towards to a trek from Khullara to Dhak Village from there the trekking would be decend so there will be change of ambience and breathing air which can be felt to inexperienced trekker. The whole distance is divided into two, where the first 10 kms is descended through trekking while the next 10 kms is a drive back to Joshimath from Dhak village. The steep descend takes around 6- 7 hours or more considering the speed of the trekkers. After reaching to Dhak village we will take a break around noon time close to any of these villages and have lunch in the area. Have some good snaps of the people here to carry as memory of the beautiful location. After the snaps session and lunch we will get to board in the car for a straight drive to Joshimath which takes not more that 45 minutes. On reaching get refreshed at the guest house and take the evening off for leisure. Overnight stay at Guest House.
Day 06: Joshimath to Haridwar
Today we start driving early to reach Haridwar with a beautiful mosaic of memories to keep us company. If we reach Haridwar on time then you can take part in Ganga Aarti at Har ki Pauri. Our trek ends here
