About the Event
About the performance
Jimi Hendrix translated sound into vivid hues, words triggered vision for Nikola Tesla and Wassily Kandinsky transformed musical notes into brushstrokes. These are sensory abilities
that these notable people from history carried, and it came to be known as Synesthesia.
“Lemme dance you a picture” attempts to take inspiration from Synesthesia and show the world of Wassily Kandinsky paintings, through the lens of dance.
The performance "Lemme dance you a picture" is a research-driven exploration based on the timeless artistry of Synesthete artist Wassily Kandinsky. Our objective is to craft a vibrant experience while examining the impact of his artworks through dance improvisations, guided solely by our intuition, and with a focus on visual-to-dance synesthesia. In other words, we aspire to transform static art into dynamic motion through this experiment..
The Experience
With skilled Kathak dancers and choreographers, we will unveil unique interpretations of Kandinsky's different artworks to demonstrate and explore intuitive movement improvisation.
To enhance engagement, we incorporate multimedia projections and invite the audience to choose the masterpiece for our dancers. This interactivity ensures an unforgettable and immersive experience for everyone present.
