A Best Of Kommune evening is specially curated to make you laugh a little louder, shed a little tear and feel all the chills as you embrace the memories of our best storytellers as if they were your own. It's an evening of handpicked performances that you will not forget as you witness some of the best stories come to life in front of you. Spend your evening amidst some of our best artists this weekend who will leave you feeling inspired, full of warmth and love.
Raphael Jose:
Raphael Jose believes that hope can be found even in dark places. His spoken word pieces are emotionally charged. They’re personal yet connect to everything around him. An actor by profession, he enjoys football, travelling, and experimenting with food.
Megha Rao:
Megha Rao is a confessional poet and a surrealist artist. Her two fiction titles were published by Penguin Random House India in 2015 and 2016. Her work has been featured on platforms such as Firstpost, The Open Road Review, New Asian Writing, Terribly Tiny Tales, ScoopWhoop, eShe Magazine, New Love Times, Why Indian Men Rape, Homegrown and Thought Catalog, Kommune and UnErase. Megha has been interviewed by leading newspapers such as The Hindu and The New Indian Express, and is a post graduate in English Literature from the University of Nottingham, UK. When she's not cafe hopping in Mumbai with a bunch of Sylvia Plath poems or biographies on Frida Kahlo in her bag, she's mostly curled up on her grandfather's easy chair with her cats back home in Trivandrum, Kerala.
Osho Jain:
Osho Jain is a Singer-Songwriter, Performer and a Music Composer/Producer. Hailing from Indore, he is currently based in Mumbai. Otherwise outspoken, Osho expresses vulnerability and his journey through music. He incorporates a lot of Hindi/ Urdu
literature and socially relevant topics in his songs as well.
Bikram Bumrah:
Hailing from Punjab, His Punjabi and Hindustani poetry is inspired by poets from both sides of the border. He is known for his romantic poem 'Jaam'
Hari Sankar:
Hari Sankar is a powerhouse who graduated in Bcom(H) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, co-founded Beatmap and found love for performing arts along the way. Though he kick-started as an entrepreneur, he eventually started juggling that with his new found flair for storytelling. On further exploring his talents, Hari became a TedX speaker, a vivid storyteller and an excellent corporate trainer. He has performed all around the country and captivated hundreds of people with his stories. When not using any of these talents, he uses his unusual knack of uploading a combination of lame jokes and eating watermelons on Instagram.
Vidya Neskar:
Vidya Nesarikar is a full time mother and a part time storyteller and children's writer. She has worked in PR and corporate communications before she found her calling in writing and storytelling. She contributes fiction for Young World, The Hindu and writes for Parentcircle magazine. Her kids are her biggest critics and toddlers are her toughest audience. When not spinning her tales, she dreams of hour long foot massages, uninterrupted cups of tea and traveling light.
Gaurav Tripathi:
A Hindi spoken word poet and storyteller, Gaurav Tripathi’s writing will leave you mesmerized. His words have the power to urge you to introspect your life and at the same time make you feel like you're not alone out here. He has left his audience captivated and spellbound at his performances in multiple institutions like IIT and SRCC and platforms like Ajmer Literature Festival and Jashn-e-Bahar. He has also been featured and recognized by media institutions like Aaj Tak, The Lallantop, Times of India, etc. Gaurav Tripathi is best known for having the magical prowess of revealing hidden truths through his art, giving his audience a literary experience of a lifetime!
Aparna Sanyal:
Aparna Upadhyaya Sanyal’s is a poet, writer and mother. Her debut book of narrative poems titled ‘Circus Folk & Village Freaks’, released in September 2018 has been ranked at #3 on the Poetry Bestseller list and #1 in the Hot New Releases list on Amazon India. She is the recipient of the 14th Beullah Rose Poetry Prize by Smartish Pace, and was shortlisted for the 2018 Third Coast Fiction Prize. She has had her work published in several reputed international poetry journals like The Penn Review, Smartish Pace, Dunes Review, Softblow, and Typehouse Literary Review. She lives in Pune with her 5-year-old son, husband and two dog babies.
