Madhubani Art History
Madhubani Art also known as Mithila Art, is a very ancient art form of India and finds it’s origin in the Madhubani District of Mithila Region of Bihar. This folk art form is said to be 2500 years old and dates back to the time of Ramayana.
Madhubani or Mithila Painting is done using fingers, match sticks as well as pen nibs in the modern era. Usually bright colours are used in the paintings with an outline made from rice paste as it’s framework. Only natural dyes are used for these paintings.
