This Onam, Mahabelly Restaurant will be cooking up a storm with an Adipoli Onam Sadhya - a traditional Malayali vegetarian spread comprising 22 dishes, served on a banana leaf. As always, your safety is our top priority and we have implemented the SOPs issued by the Health Ministry as well as the guidelines recommended by WHO and FSSAI to curb the spread of COVID-19 in restaurants. Rest assured, all you need to worry about is a full belly!

Event Details:

• The Onam Sadhya will be available from 30 August 2020 to 1 September 2020, for Lunch (12:00 PM - 3:30 PM) and Dinner (7:00 PM - 10:30 PM).
• The all-inclusive price of a single Sadhya is INR 899/- for Takeaway and INR 999/- for Home Delivery. The prices for booking the pre-order tickets for Takeaway and Home Delivery of a single Sadhya are INR 99/- and INR 199/- respectively and the balance is to be paid online 24 hours before the pickup/delivery (payment details will be sent to you separately).
• For Takeaway, the Sadhyas can be picked up from Mahabelly, Restaurant DLF Avenue Mall, Saket, Delhi. The Sadhya can be picked up / delivered any time between 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM for Lunch and 7:00 PM - 10:30 PM for Dinner.
• Home Delivery orders will be fulfilled within a radius of 12 km from Saket in Delhi and DLF Phase 4 in Gurgaon. PLEASE CHECK WHETHER YOUR ADDRESS FALLS WITHIN THE DELIVERY RADIUS BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER. While we will strive to deliver your Sadhyas on time, we anticipate minor delays due to reasons beyond our control such as COVID restrictions, rains, traffic conditions etc. The Sadhyas will be delivered between 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM (Lunch) and 7:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Dinner). If there is a specific time request for pick-up or delivery / order of extra non-veg starters, choice of rice (the default is red rice) etc, please mention it in the special instructions box while booking your ticket. These will be subject to availability and time constraints in the applicable slot however, on a no guarantee basis.
• Once the ticket is confirmed, the booking fee is non-refundable. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, please write to us connect@mahabelly.com with the reason of cancellation and we will refund the fee on a case to case basis. If the delivery address is beyond our distance radius, we will get in touch with you with options to get the same picked up from our outlets.

About the Festival of Onam & Sadhya:

The festival of Onam marks the celebration of the annual homecoming of Kerala’s beloved mythological king - King Mahabali, who was banished to the netherworld for his legendary benevolence. It is the much awaited time of the year when Malayalis celebrate the memory of this compassionate Asura King who is believed to visit his subjects on the day of Onam. All over the world, the Malayali diaspora celebrates this festival with much pomp and fanfare, complete with intricate atthapookalam or flower carpets. Men and women dress up in the traditional Kasavu mundu and saree in respect to the most important meal of the day – the Onam Sadhya.  

The Onam Sadhya is an elaborate feast served on a plantain leaf. The traditional Sadhya is a vegetarian feast comprising more than 22 dishes, starting with the uppu (salt), upperi (banana chips), sharkara peratti (jaggery coated banana chips), pickles, pappadams, followed by the other dishes such as kaalan (yam and raw bananas in yoghurt curry), olan (ash gourd and red beans in coconut milk), rice etc and ending on a sweet note with two varieties of payasams (kheer).
