Why you need this workshop:
One of the important ways in which an artist communicates with prospective audiences, gallerists and curators is the Artist Statement that summarises an artist’s work and his/her usage of concept, visual language and material. However, there is often a wide gap between an artist’s ability to express through images and through words. Hence most art students and artists are at a loss when it comes to writing about their works, thereby losing out on many career opportunities. This workshop addresses this need. It will take artists through the various ways in which they could break down aspects of their work and create a cohesive Artist Statement that would help communicate the uniqueness of their work to those unfamiliar with it.
Registered participants need to send in their current artist statement and portfolio to piramalartfoundation@gmail.com
