Arts Culture Resources India (ACRI) along with its Pune chapter host, TIFA Working Studios and knowledge partner, British Council Pune is a platform for professional opportunities in the cultural and creative sector. Our chapters are taking this impetus offline, to events that will be focused on arts and cultural management in India. As culture professionals, we're looking to grow, support, and share the non-artistic aspects of the arts and the people behind them.


Join us on 15th February, 5:30pm at TIFA Working Studios for the third ACRI session in Pune. We're hosting an introductory session where three experienced culture professionals will share their journeys in managing and running different art and cultural organizations. We will hear from Joe Cyril, Ishan Benegal and Prasad Varanase as they talk about programming, partnerships, research, finance and marketing. 


Speakers:

Joe Cyril is currently the lead for Business Development at Saffronart. He joined Saffronart in 2015 as the executive assistant to the co-founder Dinesh Vazirani’s office. Since 2017, Joe has also held the role of auction clerk for Saffronart’s Live auctions. 

He is part of the core team in charge of coordinating and conducting first-of-its-kind recovery auctions of seized assets for the Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate, Government of India. Among other projects, Joe has also led multiple pro-bono and fundraisers auctions for Saffronart including the bi-annual Kochi Biennale Fundraisers and Kerala’s first art auction - Art Rises for Kerala, which had raised over 3 crores towards flood relief efforts in the state.

Joe is originally from Kochi, Kerala and completed his bachelors degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. Prior to Saffronart, he had worked for the Kochi Biennale Foundation in it’s 2012 and 2014 editions.


Ishan Benegal Is the Associate Artistic Director at the G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture he's at the helm of G5A's creative strategy, where his background and practice help inform and drive the curatorial process. He is also the brains behind PORT Kitchen & Bar, an all day cafe and bar housed within G5A that is a space for new conversations and new connections fuelled by home-style food, coffee, and cocktails.” With a background in English Literature and Mathematics, Ishan Benegal's creative practice takes the form of writing, photography, and food. While music, cinema, football, and reading remain firmly in orbit.





Prasad Vidyanidhee Vanarase is a Founder Director of International Association for Performing Arts and Research (IAPAR). IAPAR is the only Indian member institution of the UNESCO - UNITWIN Network for Higher Education in Performing Arts. He completed his post graduation from the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi. He has directed more than fifty plays in multiple languages and have also traveled nationally and internationally. He has worked with Prithvi International Theatre Festival, India, London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT), UK, Project Phakama, South Africa to name a few. He has been involved in theatre training for the last 20 years and has worked as visiting faculty - guest director at several universities and theatre institutes in India and abroad. 

Since 2005, he was involved in developing FLAME University as an Associate Dean and in June 2009 helped initiate a School of Performing Arts and worked as Dean of the school for 4 years. At present he is setting up the Indian National Centre of International Theatre Institute - UNESCO.

Arts and Culture Opportunities, Residencies, Workshops, Jobs in India, a.k.a Arts and Culture Resources India (ACRI) is a space for knowledge exchange, information sharing, networking and learning for cultural and creative industry professionals in India. ACRI began as a Facebook group to connect people who were looking for job and learning opportunities in the arts and culture sector in India. It now enjoys a strong online presence with over 48,000 members (as on January 2019). Since 2013, it has been run by 7 volunteers who act as moderators of the group. This is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led initiative.
