Schools being closed is hurting some children more than the others. Do you want to try to bridge this gap by teaching children from Maharashtra's marginalised communities? If yes, then sign up!
You can help ConnectFor and its NGO partner, Tamarind Tree by teaching children (aged 6-14) curriculum based subjects such as English, science, math etc, so that children do not miss out on learning in the midst of the pandemic.
How can volunteers help?:
Volunteer can help by teaching on Tamrind Tree's online platforms. Volunteers will be provided with training and curriculum to support their mentoring and teaching program.
Please note: Once you sign up, the ConnectFor team will reach out to you to brief you on further details and share guidelines to help you navigate around the volunteering experience.
Things to keep in mind:
Volunteers must have:
- Laptop or a smart phone
- Stable internet connection
- Spoken proficiency in English and at least 1 regional language
- Fluency in Marathi is a bonus
Time commitment needed by the Volunteer:
3 hours per week for 2 months.
Meet the Team
ConnectFor, a research project of The Rosy Blue Foundation, is a digital volunteering platform that matches and connects volunteers to NGOs based on their requirements. ConnectFor was founded in 2015 by Shloka Ambani and Maniti Shah when they understood the value of human capital and it's dire need in the development sector. They have over 18,000 volunteers registered on their platform and work with more than 350 NGOs.
ConnectFor's NGO partner Tamarind Tree provides technology-driven quality education through the Tamarind Tree School. They are a knowledge and technology collective based in Maharashtra. Founded as a public charitable trust, their work is centered around the broad realms of social justice, open knowledge & technology. They work in three main domains — re-appropriating knowledge & technology for and with marginalised communities, transforming elementary education by bringing in open learning and building a mesh of communication resources for learners.
