Unbox Cultural Futures is ushering in the winter season on December 10, 2023 with the MERRY MAKER MARKET, an all-day celebration of the capital city's vibrant community of creators at the lush, green environment of Sanskriti Kendra, Aya Nagar, New Delhi. The market presents a lineup of workshops facilitated by some incredible New Delhi-based practitioners, perfect for getting immersed in a wide range of tactile art activities throughout the day. In addition, the market stalls will highlight purveyors of art, print objects, textiles and clothing, as well as delicious food and beverage offerings from all over town to keep you cosy and warm—all passes come with complimentary drinks celebrating the season from Bira!

Cut-out comix jam with Anand Shenoy aka Pagal Kutta

This collaborative workshop will navigate the intricacies of the medium of comic book storytelling. Hosted by cartoonist and visual artist Anand Shenoy, also known Pagal Kutta,based in Delhi. He self publishes comics and makes sculptures, paintings on shirts and animations. All materials will be provided. Limited slots available.

Paint your pottery — a Ceramic Decorating Techniques workshop

This experiential ceramics hand building & wheel throwing session will focus on surface decorative arts techniques. Hosted by the Sanskriti Kendra Museum Ceramic Centre, a one of its kind ceramics studio in India.All materials will be provided. Limited slots available.

Natural dye-ing with Material Library of India

A hands-on workshop on sustainable color sourcing and natural dyeing techniques. Material Library of India is a research & design consultancy focused on upcycling and material literacy education. Their philosophy is to celebrate the rebirth of materials that were once exiled to towering landfills or incinerators. All materials will be provided. Limited slots available.

Nature-based analogue Cyanotype printmaking

Cyanotype is an age-old technique of alternate and analogue printing that uses photosensitive materials and the power of the sun. This hands-on and interactive workshop will involve participants foraging the lush Sanskriti Kendra campus to find organic materials to create unique artworks. All materials will be provided.
