About Papon:
Angaraag Mahanta, popularly known as Papon, is one of the most sought-after musicians in India. He is a versatile music composer with a beautiful voice. Whether it is ambient electronica, acoustic folk, classical songs of Eastern India or Ghazals – Papon never fails to touch hearts with his music.
The artist has crooned hit songs 'Kyun' from Barfi, 'Labon ka karobar' from Befikre, 'Bulleya' from Sultan, 'Jiyein Kyun' from Dum Maaro Dum, 'Moh moh ke dhage' from Dum Laga Ke Haisha and more. He first rose to fame with his spellbinding performances at Coke Studio India. By the third season of the show, his songs and collaborations like 'Tauba' became very popular.
About Fossils:
Fossils is one of the most original rock bands in India. A pioneer of regional rock, they proudly wear the tag of 'Bangla Rock' on their sleeves. Formed in Kolkata in 1998, the band is currently composed of the iconic Rupam Islam (lead vocals, acoustic guitar & composer), Deep (guitar, backing vocals & composer), Allan Ao (guitar, backing vocals), Chandramouli (bass, backing vocals) and Tanmoy (drums).
Music-wise, they bring together the blues, hard rock and psychedelia; while Rupam Islam brings his characteristic psychoanalytical lyrics to the table. They're more than just an exciting rock band - they are noted for their social commentary and advocation of causes such as the welfare of HIV positive people. They have been a staple of music festivals and have performed abroad as well. They have a cult following which needs to be seen to be believed.
About Parikrama:
India’s oldest and longest surviving rock band, Parikrama have been on the scene for over 25 years now. Officially formed in 1991, they were the pioneers of homegrown English Rock music in India. Their first song Xerox was named 'the face of Indian rock'. The band is known for fusing Indian classical instruments like the table and mridangam with the western guitar, drums and keyboard. They’ve never released an album in all this time, and all of their music is available for free. Having opened for bands like Iron Maiden, they are truly India's rock legends.
About Farikdot
Faridkot was formed in 2008 when IP and Raj came together to make some fun and exciting original music. Riding early on the wave of sufi music influx that is still flowing in, they have carved out a cult following for themselves. Faridkot’s music is a mixture of shifting blues guitars and harmonic love melodies blended around a thumping percussion and bass. They call their genre Confused Pop and have been hailed as one of the foremost original Hindi pop-rock bands in the country.
