About Gillo Repertory Theatre

Gillo Repertory Theatre is one of India’s foremost theatre companies working exclusively in the area of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA). They create performing arts experiences that engage children and young adults with theatre in particular and the arts in general. Their work, which includes content development, performance and training, creates opportunities for children to develop deep and life-long connections with the arts. They have a group of adult performers who stage short and full-length plays for children of different age groups.Founded in 2009 in Mumbai, they have produced over 30 plays in different languages and staged over 600 shows for more than 130000 children across India.In 2017, they launched their most ambitious project, “Gillo On The Go”, a travelling theatre for children. Artists travel on a bus for 2 to 4 weeks from place to place (usually outside metro cities), performing for children, in their schools, near their homes and at places where they can reach easily. They also conduct theatre-based workshops for children and teachers. They have so far travelled across Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.

Established in 2010, the Hyderabad Children's Theatre Festival (HCTF) is a not-for-profit society dedicated to bringing internationally acclaimed troupes specializing in theatre for children and young adults to Hyderabad. These troupes deliver exceptional productions with world-class production values, receiving praise from both critics and audiences, and garnering numerous awards. Over the course of thirteen years, the Hyderabad Children's Theatre Festival has showcased performances by 23 prominent Indian troupes, reaching out to thousands of children and adults in Hyderabad.
