Ratangad is a hill fort near Ratan Wadi, This time we are going to ascend Vai Sandhan Valley and this is going to be exciting . Overlooking one of the oldest artificial catchment areas. The fort is about 2000 years old. Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called Nedhe or Eye of the Needle. Ratangad was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle and was one of his favorites. The base village Ratanwadi has an Amruteshwar temple which is famous for its carvings. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam is built on this river.

10.00 pm Meet leaders at Borivali (East) - SGNP Gate
11:00 PM Pritam hotel, Dadar(East).
Pickup points:
12:00 AM Nitin company, Thane(West)
12:30 AM Kalyan Bhiwandi bypass junction
04:00 AM: Reach base village Ratanwadi and take some rest
06:00 AM: Breakfast, short introduction and start trek
10:00 AM: Reach top of the fort, enjoy the view
11:00 AM: Start descend
02:00 PM: Reach base village, lunch
03:00 PM: Visit temple
03:30 PM: Proceed to Mumbai
08:00 PM: Reach Dadar.
(All timings mentioned above are tentative)

A bottle of water (at-least 2 Ltrs) Compulsory
Windcheater (Compulsory)
TORCH with extra batteries Cap, etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)

A good trekking shoes, extra pair of floaters, extra clothes.
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried so that one has ones hands free while trekking. Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
Rains are expected, so pack your bags accordingly to save them from getting wet. Double pack your valuables in plastic bags.
