Titled, ‘A Native Tongue called Peace’, this debut performance by the folk-rock band from Imphal is dedicated to the children in Gaza and Manipur. Imphal Talkies is a folk rock band from Manipur, formed in 2008 by Akhu Chingangbam. The band has cut five albums so far, Tidim Road (2009), When The Home Is Burning(2014), ‘Maria and the flower child’(2018), Ema gi Wari (2019) and the self-titled album Imphal Talkies. The band has released various singles from time to time. The band is known for its political songs which often represents the minority communities in India through its music.
