Event Instructions for TechXcelerate 2024 – BITS Pilani Hyderabad Edition
Welcome to TechXcelerate 2024 at BITS Pilani Hyderabad! To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, please carefully read through the following event instructions.
1. Registration & Check-In:
- Date of Event: 9th & 10th November 2024
- Venue: BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus
- Check-in Time: 8:00 AM (9th November 2024)
- All participants are required to bring a valid photo ID for verification.
- Once you arrive, proceed to the registration desk where you’ll receive your event badges, kits, and a schedule of activities.
- Registration Confirmation: Ensure you have received a confirmation email. If not, please contact support@codebeat.in prior to the event.
2. Workshop Details (Day 1 – 9th November 2024):
- Workshops Start Time: 9:00 AM sharp.
- Duration: Each workshop will last for 2 hours.
- Workshops Available:
- Web Application Development
- Mobile App Development using Flutter
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Internet of Things (IoT) using IBM
- Required Materials:
- Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops with relevant software installed (guidelines will be sent in advance).
- Charging cables, notebook, pen, and any additional resources you may need.
- Refreshments: Tea, coffee, and lunch will be provided.
- Networking: There will be networking breaks between sessions, so take the opportunity to connect with fellow participants and speakers.
3. Hackathon Guidelines (Phase 2 – 9th November 8 PM 2024):
- Start Time: 8:00 PM (sharp)
- Duration: 20 hours
- Teams must be composed of 2-8 members. You may work solo, but team participation is highly encouraged.
- The hackathon will be judged based on originality, feasibility, innovation, technical complexity, and user experience.
- You can select one of the following categories for the hackathon:
- Web Application Development
- Mobile App Development using Flutter
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Submission Deadline: 5:00 PM on the next day. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Final Presentation:
- Teams will be given 5 minutes to pitch their project to the judges.
- Prepare a demo of your solution along with a brief presentation covering your idea, technical stack, and solution approach.
- Evaluation Process:
- The judging panel consists of industry experts and faculty members.
- Scores will be based on innovation, technical implementation, presentation, and scalability.
- Prizes: A total prize pool of INR 250,000 will be distributed among the top-performing teams.
4. Code of Conduct:
- Respect your fellow participants, mentors, and staff. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
- Teams are expected to create original work during the hackathon. Pre-built solutions or copied code from previous projects will lead to disqualification.
- Ensure that all team members participate actively throughout the event.
Venue Rules & Safety:
- Please respect the venue and its property. Any damages caused to BITS Pilani Hyderabad facilities will result in penalties.
- Adhere to safety protocols and event instructions from the organizing team.
- Ensure you keep your personal belongings safe. The event organizers are not responsible for any lost items.
