About the Event

NomMads presents a carefully curated travel experience exclusively for ladies this September. The tour includes visits to three renowned and popular destinations: Amritsar, McLeodganj, and Dharamsala, and a chance to see historical and religious sites such as Jallianwala Baugh, the Golden Temple, the Bhigsu temple and so on. Your long trip starts at Amritsar and culminates in Delhi.

About McLeodganj and Dharamsala
McLeodganj or 'Little Lhasa' is a little town in Dharamsala, in the high reaches of the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh. A mecca for hippies from all over the world, McLeodGanj also houses the Tibetan government-in-exile and has a sizeable Tibetan population. One can visit the Bhagsu Snake Temple for scenic vistas and a spiritual atmosphere. There's the gorgeous Dal Lake that is reminiscent of and named after the one in Kashmir, and the St.Johns's in the Wilderness Church, 18th-century church with a neo-gothic brick facade, stained glass windows and memorial grave. Finally, adding an air of serenity to the place is the Namgyal Monastery, which is considered the home of the Dalai Lama. With such a varied and intriguing setting and a town that is as eccentric as it is beautiful, McLeodganj merits a visit at least once in a lifetime. Dharamsala also has Dharamkot, a slightly lesser known hippie village very close to McLeodganj.
Itinerary
7th September:
- Reach Amritsar. Patrons are requested to reach Amritsar by afternoon or early evening, as the tour includes a quick trip to the Golden Temple, to see the beautiful temple at night!
- Bond with the tour mates at night at the orientation and introduction session
- Come back to the hotel, have dinner and call it an early night

8th September:
- Have early Breakfast
- Visit Jallianwala Baugh
- Have lunch at Golden Temple Langar
- See the Wagah Border gate closing ceremony
- Have dinner, followed by fun board games with tour mates

9th September:
- Have breakfast
- Visit the Partition Museum
- Do local shopping
- Have lunch
- Depart for Mcleodganj post lunch
- Reach McLeodganj, relax, have early dinner, and bond with the tour mates about things they loved about Amritsar!

10th September:
- Have early breakfast
- Trek to the Bhigsu temple
- Have lunch
- Come back to the hotel to rest
- In the evening - walk in the city centre, and relax over coffee at one of the most popular cafes of the area
- Have dinner, followed by games

11th September:
- Have breakfast
- Visit the St.Johns's in the Wilderness Church
- Visit Dal Lake (yes, there's a Dal Lake in McLeodganj too!)
- Have lunch
- Visit the Namgyal Monastery
- In the evening, patrons are free to explore the town on their own

12th September:
- Have breakfast and leave for Dharamsala
- Sightseeing in Dharamsala
- Come back to McLeodganj for the night

13th September:
- Have breakfast
- Visit Dharamkot
- Come back to the hotel for packing
- Leave for Delhi in the evening

14th September:
Reach Delhi in the morning
