Oscilnation - Sound + Sighscapes
The set is positioned in such a way that the lines between the audience and performer are blurred. The role of the stage or set is devised to let the audience indulge in the experience.
‘Chaos’ is the base element for this audio-visual experience. ‘Chaos’ is a term adopted by the field of physics in the last 20 years or so to describe inconsistencies and non-linearities found in many natural phenomena.
The sounds used in the set are made through pure data, DIY gadgets and analog methods. These tools are used to produce non-linear sounds through mathematical equations overlaying each other, or through the randomness of human movement. The gadgets and sounds are then interconnected to allow the performers to interact with each other, blurring the form of an individual sound. The visuals are made from generative data and live feed from the performance/audience. The set uses chaos to create unique experiences each time, with the performers finding a path within the abstraction and exploring notions of randomness.
