The experience of this health crisis and the lock-down has been life altering. It is indeed a challenging time to be a teenager. As schools and activities move online, there is a desire to make sense of how everything is changing and will change in the days to come. Theatre has always been a strong tool for expression of political and social changes within a community. Why not use it to create your very own performance diary of sorts?
Theatre artist and educator Saudamini Kalra takes students through various modules on fundamentals of theatre acting, movement, scene creation and storytelling to be able to express the experience of the pandemic in each one’s own unique voice.
The workshop will culminate in live online performance sharings by each participant!
From
10th to 16th August
Timing
5.30 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday | 11 am to 12.30 pm on Saturday & Sunday
About The Facilitator
Saudamini Kalra is an artist working primarily in the fields of theatre and theatre-based education. She is the co-founder of the Meat Puppet Company. She trained in theatre from the L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris as well as The Drama School Mumbai.
About The Masterclass
The workshop will be conducted over five days between the 10th and 16th of August (Monday to Sunday). 12th and 15th will be days of self-driven research and rehearsal for the students to apply and work on what they learn. Over five days (with two self-driven work days in between) the workshop will take participants through
- The use of theatre and drama for self-expression : A Look At The Past.
- The Sources of Stories : How our daily objects, memories, voice notes, can become theatrical tools.
- Performing Online and how to create a show using Zoom/Instagram/other platforms.
