Every year Doab Uncut Motion offers supports to short filmmakers. This year we have planned to do that in a more structured manner. "Pitch Your Short" is a short fiction film funding program alongside Asia Independent Film Festival. AIFF is our first move to south India. "Pitch Your Short" is an effort to democratize short film funding process. The programme, conceptualized by the Doab Uncut Motion, is an organization based out of Kolkata working intensely with South Asian Filmmakers to redefine indie-ness of this regions independent films.
Open to fiction short film project under 30 minute from all over the India, the programme lasts 3 days - from 15th June to 17th June 2018, and foresees grand pitching sessions and international film screenings. Projects at pre-production stage or in an early stage of production can apply for the programme. Projects which have won funds from any other funding programmes cannot take part in this pitching event. The projects which will be facilitated at the end of the programme will receive INR 50000 production fund and multiple post-production funds. The participant will get 7 minutes to pitch their film and followed by a 7 minutes question answer round with the panel, in a nutshell total 14 munites to impress the jury. The decision of the jury panel will be final and must be obeyed by all the participant.
Deadline for applications: June 10, 2018.
- an updated CV (2 pages maximum);
- a project synopsis (1-page maximum);
- a project treatment (3 pages maximum);
- a project intention (1 pages maximum): it may include a director's/scriptwriter's motivation;
- audiovisual approach documents or pitch video. (moodboard, etc.);
- a previous work (optional; 30 minutes maximum)*
*a link (with password) to one previous short film or extract of previous materials. Submitted materials should be in English or have English subtitles/translation; show reels will be accepted. Videos must be sent to AIFF official email id with the application package no later than June 7th, 2018.
The decision of the jury panel will be final and the participant cannot challenge the decision.
