Bengal Warriors: About The Team

Pro Kabaddi is back with Season 10! Bengal Warriors have made a good start and now they look forward to playing at their home, Kolkata. With your support, #AamarWarriors have continuously been improving themselves after every match.

Bengal Warriors, a Kolkata-based franchise in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), secured their maiden championship in 2019 by defeating Dabang Delhi in a thrilling final. Led by captain Maninder Singh and coached by Kasinatha Baskaran, the team has consistently demonstrated strong performances, making it to the playoffs in 2017, 2018, and 2019. The franchise, owned by Capri Sports, plays its home matches at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. In the historic 2019 final, Bengal Warriors overcame a challenging deficit of 3–11 to emerge victorious with a 39-34 margin, showcasing resilience and determination. This triumph marked a significant milestone as they clinched their first-ever PKL title, with the absence of their captain Maninder Singh, who had sustained a shoulder injury earlier in the competition.

Pro Kabaddi is the popular franchise-based tournament for kabaddi, India’s own sport. Since its inauguration in 2014, the tournament has been mesmerizing audiences across the country. Pro Kabaddi has 12 franchises based in the following 11 states: Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh. The main aims of the tournament are promoting the game of kabaddi, nurturing new talent and giving it a global platform.
